SendOff Kenya
Delete your account and data
You can delete your SendOff Kenya account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. If you can no longer sign in, email us and we will do it for you. This page explains both routes and exactly what happens.
Delete your account in the app
- Open SendOff Kenya and go to Profile.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and choose Delete my account.
Deletion happens immediately. You are signed out on every device and the app returns to the sign-in screen.
If you are the Chairperson of an active event, the app will ask you to hand that role to another member first (from the Committee screen, Hand over Chairperson), so the committee is not left without one. Then delete your account.
If you cannot sign in
Email us from the address linked to your SendOff Kenya account. The button below pre-fills the subject line for you.
Please include:
- The email address of your SendOff Kenya account
- Whether you signed up with an email and password, with Google or with Apple
We will reply to confirm the request came from you, delete the account within 30 days, and email you when it is done. If you chair an active event, we will first ask you which member should take over the role.
What is deleted, and what stays
Deleting your account, by either route, does the following:
- Deleted: your sign-in (email and password, or your Google or Apple link), your profile, and the push-notification tokens for your phones.
- Ended: your membership of every committee. You lose access to every event, and any tasks assigned to you in active events become unassigned.
- Kept: the records you created or changed inside an event (tasks, contributions, pledges, expenses, meetings, communications and briefs) stay with that event under your name, with the link to your account removed. The committee's books stay complete. This is how SendOff Kenya is designed: financial records are never deleted, and a closed event keeps everything for its members to see.
Nightly database backups can hold deleted information for up to about three months before they expire. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
If you were recorded in an event by someone else, for example as a contributor, that is part of the committee's records rather than your account. Ask the event's Chairperson to correct it, or email our contact address .
